About the Author

As a full-time writer, Sara Grant knows a little about magic. She believes creating Magic Trix was equal parts imagination, perspiration and magic. She has worked on ten different series and edited more than 75 books for children and teens. Sara had help creating this series from her editor at Orion Children's Books and two cats who must remain nameless -- because any fame would go right to their heads.

She loves everything about books -- writing, editing and reading them. She has a bookcase overflowing with books and a pile of books nearly as tall as she is waiting -- no, begging -- to be read. She also adores full moons, thunderstorms, the colour orange, potatoes in their various and wonderful forms, but, more importantly, she loves visiting schools and sharing her passion for stories.

Sara also writes fiction for young adults. Dark Parties, a dystopian thriller, was published in 2012. Her second novel for teens is titled Half Lives and will be published by Orion in May 2013.

She was born and raised in a small town in the Midwestern United States. She graduated from Indiana University with degrees in journalism and psychology, and later she earned a master’s degree in creative and life writing at Goldsmiths College, University of London. She lives in London.
